Welcome to 2023! Not ready me either but here we go........

Welcome to 2023!  The year does not look promising and I foresee we are due for some challenging times.  What can I do about it, not much but control what I can, so I guess I need to clean house and prepare for the year. 
To begin I  sit back, review the past year and plan for the next.  So here is the first bullet list of to do for the year:

1. Work on the abs    
   1. You will be picking yourself up by your bootstraps thus getting your abs in shape.
      1. ​Yes your family will give you the "deer in the headlights look" so you may be on your own at times.  It is ok, we all go through it.  
         
   2. Challenging days ahead plan for it and you can manage it.  
2. Be kind to myself
   1. Yep, I have procrastinated, had retail therapy, and just made some stupid moves.  
3. Find my humility    
   1. Litany of humility everyday. litany_of_humility.docx
   2. Why?  So my faults do not drive me back into point 2.  
   3. Can't get through a line?  Put that on your personal work list it is causing you problems.  
      
4. Brush off myself and start the next list to clean up the existing.  And good, bad or ugly we need to prepare for another year. 

Where to start?
    You cannot do it all, but you can prioritize and step one is CLEAN.

Do’s and don’ts
Don’t

1. Go shopping for tons of containers and retail therapy to fix the problem, you will just add more clutter
2. Shame yourself into thinking that Better Homes and Gardens is the ideal
   1. Did I say retail therapy?
3. Get overwhelmed.  Your gifts and talents drive you, not your neighbor.  Some are organized to a tee, some are not and some fake it.  
   1. I clean out houses I know of those secret pile sheds and rooms
   2. “Gifts and talents folks” if you are not spotless that is ok.  Goal is to be clean and comfortable for your own environment.

Do’s

1. Just clean
2. Clear out trash
3. Put things in their home 
   1. No home add to your list of find a home for see below *
4. Wipe and scrub the dirt.
   1. Plan on this a day at a time and don’t expect House Beautiful.  You just want to find those bad spots and problem areas and dream how you want it to be.

*Need an inexpensive home for those items that are lacking space?

1. Heavy duty Banker Boxes that unfold and collapse easily    
   1. They stack and label easily. 
2. Painters tape
   1. It can label and be removed easily.  You can also buy different colors to coordinate.  

    
Now you are finding those spots and start building your goals.

    Declutter…and prioritize but CLEAN first.
